Belmont Abbey College has announced the launch of a new online hospitality management minor, starting in the fall 2025 semester. The program aims to equip students with essential skills for the hospitality industry and features faculty such as Michael Matthews, Hotel General Manager at Hampton Inn Charlotte-Belmont at Montcross.

The minor will cover various sectors including hotel management, event planning, and human resource management. Students will engage in hands-on learning experiences to prepare for real-world challenges. Michael Matthews stated that the program offers “an incredible opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the hospitality industry while developing practical skills.”

Courses offered will include topics like hospitality and tourism management, financial management, and business communication excellence. Ethical practices in the sector will also be emphasized. Dr. Brad Frazier highlighted that the new minor reflects Belmont Abbey College’s commitment to providing relevant educational opportunities.
