Belmont Abbey College has announced an update to its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, now aimed at training future nurse educators through a specialized Nurse Educator track. This enhancement comes as the demand for skilled healthcare professionals continues to grow, highlighting the need for knowledgeable nurse educators.
The MSN Nurse Educator program is designed to develop advanced teaching competencies, curriculum development skills, and assessment strategies specific to nursing education. The program aims to prepare graduates for roles in academia, healthcare facilities, and educational service companies.
Students enrolled in the program will focus on the educational aspects of nursing, contributing to their professional growth and helping shape future generations of nurses. The program offers career opportunities in academia, staff development, and clinical education.
The entire Master of Science in Nursing program is available online. It integrates advanced nursing concepts with evidence-based practice and leadership principles grounded in Catholic and Benedictine values. The online format accommodates working nurses by allowing them to balance studies with personal and professional commitments. Graduates are prepared for doctoral-level studies and ethical leadership roles.
Dr. Lee-Ann Kenny, Chair and Program Director of Nursing at Belmont Abbey College, stated: “Our online MSN – Nurse Educator program offers nurses a meaningful way to advance their careers while making a lasting impact on the future of healthcare.” She added that the curriculum prepares nurse educators “to lead with both expertise and compassion.”
Applications are currently open for the upcoming semester. More information can be found at belmontabbeycollege.edu/msn or by contacting admissions@bac.edu.
