City of Belmont Police Department issued the following announcement on June 27.
We would like to take a moment to thank Dallas Police Department, Gaston County Police Department and Cramerton Police Department. On 6/19 our officers witnessed a breaking and entering in progress at Hungry Howie’s Pizza in Belmont. Both suspects fled from the business on foot and were tracked by a Dallas Police Department K9.
Both suspects were quickly apprehended without incident. After further investigation, the suspects captured were involved in a multi jurisdictional burglary ring in North and South Carolina.
We appreciate the quick response by all agencies involved which made these arrests possible!
