City of Bessemer City issued the following announcement on June 29.

Bessemer City residents, please note that our Natural Gas Department is currently conducting a quality survey by phone.

The federal Office of Pipeline Safety requires us to judge the effectiveness of our Natural Gas Safety programs. We are calling both customers and non-customers in and around our service area because every person in our service area needs to be aware of pipeline and natural gas safety standards for their well-being.

The number that should appear on your caller ID is (980) 243 – 4698. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and participation in our quality survey.
