COUNTY OF GASTON: Brown, Hovis Picked to Lead Gaston Board in 2022

County of Gaston issued the following announcement on Dec. 18. 

At its annual organizational meeting on December 14, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners selected Riverbend Township Commissioner Chad Brown to serve as the board Chairman for 2022.

Brown, who is entering the final year of his third term on the commission, has twice previously served as the board’s chairman. He also previously served as mayor for the Town of Stanley.

Commissioner Bob Hovis, representing the Crowders Mountain Township, was selected as Vice Chairman. Hovis, who previously served as the mayor of Bessemer City, is in the middle of his second term on the board.
