GASTON COUNTY: JCPC is Seeking Applications for Funding

Gaston County recently issued the following announcement.

JCPC is Seeking Applications for Funding

The Gaston County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) is seeking applications for funding juvenile justice intervention and prevention services for fiscal year 2020-2021. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Division of Adult Corrections and Juvenile Justice (DACJJ) allocated funds to Gaston County in fiscal year 2019-2020 in the amount of $666,963 and it is anticipated this amount will be allocated for the upcoming year.  The use of DACJJ funds in this county requires a local cash or in-kind match of 20%.

Any public or private non-profit agency may apply for these funds.  Priority will be given to proposals for services that will be used by the Juvenile Court as dispositional options: Vocational Skills/Structured Day, Restitution, Substance Abuse Treatment, Parent/Family Skills, Teen Court, Psychological Assessment, Interpersonal Skills, Home Based Family Counseling, Mentoring, Sex Offender Treatment and Life Skills as per North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) 7B-2506 or 2503; or as a resource for intake diversion plans or contracts, as specified in NCGS 1706.

There will be a mandatory Applicants Meeting for all agencies interested in applying for funding on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Police Department’s Community Room, 420 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052. To be eligible for funding a representative from the applying agency must be present. At that time program agreement, budget and funding priority information will be made available.

Twelve copies of completed applications should be mailed or delivered to Chief Joe Ramey, Gaston County Police Department, at 420 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052 by 5:00 p.m. on  Thursday, March 23, 2020.   For more information please call (704) 866-3321.
