Town of Gaston recently issued the following announcement.
Gaston County is set to host a virtual town hall on Thursday, April 16, answering residents’ questions on the COVID-19 response.
The event is called “COVID-19: The Fight and Our Future,” and will cover topics including coronavirus testing, relief for the unemployed and small business owners and a discussion of what a slow, gradual reopening of closed businesses in Gaston County might look like. The virtual event will be livestreamed on the Gaston County Government’s Facebook page. Citizens can submit questions during the event, or email them in advance to the Public Information Office at adam.gaub@gastongov.com.
The event is scheduled between 11 am and 12:30 pm.
The panel will include Gastonia Mayor Walker Reid and Dallas Mayor Rick Coleman; Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Tracy Philbeck; CaroMont Health Vice President of Medical Affairs Dr. G. Ward Adcock, III; Gaston County Medical Director Dr. Tia Robertson; Gaston County Social Services Director Angi Karchmer; Gaston Business Task Force Member and Greater Gaston Development Corporation Executive Director Pat Mumford; United Way of Gaston County President Linda Slade; and Gaston Faith Community Member Bishop John McCullough.
More panelists may be added this week.
