City of Gastonia issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.
A fundraiser to help support the City of Gastonia’s program, Keep Gastonia Beautiful, is underway and the public can show its support. The public is encouraged to help fill the huge FUSE letters located at the entrances to the CaroMont Health Park on Franklin Boulevard at Trenton and Hill Streets.
“This is a great opportunity for the public to ‘see’ how their donation to our beautification program can make a difference,” said Juliann Lehman, Keep Gastonia Beautiful administrator.
Donors can purchase a baseball or softball for $10 each or a football or soccer ball for $15 each, using a special link and it will be placed inside one of the giant letters at the ballpark entrances. Proceeds from the sale of the balls will support Keep Gastonia Beautiful’s beautification efforts throughout downtown. The balls can also be purchased onsite at some Honey Hunters baseball games.
