City of Bellmont issued the following announcement on Sep 10.
The city council approved multiple resolutions opposing proposed legislation in the N.C. House and Senate that would further reduce local governing authority. The proposed bills did not pass and become law, but some of the pieces of this legislation have been added to the proposed state budget. See the post below for more specifics. We urge our residents to contact our local state delegation in the N.C. State House and Senate to urge them to protect the already limited authority of city governments.
