COUNTY OF GASTON: GCLMPO Public Comment Period

County of Gaston issued the following announcement on Mar. 30.

The documents will be available for review and public comments will be received from April 1 – April 30, 2022.

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) identifies the transportation projects that GCLMPO and NCDOT plan to undertake over the next ten years. The GCLMPO’s 2020-2029 MTIP is being modified to reflect the following amendments to the 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP):

EB-5701

GASTON COUNTY

US 29/74 (E Franklin Blvd), SR 2200 (Cox Rd) to the project limit of U-6043. Construct missing sidewalk on south side. Improve pedestrian crossing at the intersection of US 29/74 and SR 2200 (Cox Rd).

TO ALLOW ADDITIONAL TIME FOR PE, DELAY ROW FROM FY 22 TO FY 23 AND CONSTRUCTION FROM FY 23 TO FY 24 AND MODIFY PROJECT LIMITS AT THE REQUEST OF THE MPO.

RIGHT-OF-WAY

        FY 23 - $  176,000 (TA5200)

        FY 23 - $    44,000 (L)

UTILITIES

        FY 23 - $    60,000 (TA5200)

        FY 23 - $    15,000 (L)

CONSTRUCTION

        FY 24 - $1,226,000 (TA5200)

        FY 24 - $   307,000 (L)

                     $1,828,000

 

In addition, the GCLMPO’s 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) needs to be amended to update the project scope, timeline, and funding amounts.

The public may also provide comments during the GCLMPO TCC Meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 10:00 am and the Board Meeting on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 6:30 pm.
