City of Gastonia issued the following announcement on May 20.
The blue block bonanza is back June 4 at The Schiele Museum in Gastonia with Block Party 2.0. Sponsored by PNC Bank, this interactive playscape allows children to build, reach, create and bring their imaginations to life.
“Block Party was a huge fan favorite in 2019, so we had to bring it back,” said Tony Pasour, The Schiele’s head of interpretation. “This interactive exhibit is open-ended for hands-on STEAM learning, and I think kids and their families are really going to enjoy this experience.”
Block Party 2.0 promotes cognitive and social development. Young architects will have access to thousands of building blocks and connectors of all shapes and sizes, providing them the opportunity to build their imaginative concepts.
“As a longtime supporter of The Schiele and its educational programming for young children, all of us at PNC are excited to help bring this unique learning experience to The Schiele,” said Weston Andress, PNC regional president for Western Carolinas. “Block Party 2.0 reaches The Schiele’s youngest visitors and provides a constructive way for families to spend time together.”
Block Party 2.0 opens Saturday, June 4 and is included with museum admission.
