City of Mount Holly issued the following announcement on June 27.
To engage county residents, businesses, and organizations in dialogue about their desires for the future of Gaston County and to use that dialogue, along with an examination of data and trends, to create a VISION for what Gaston County can achieve between today and 2040.
A community vision can be described as an image of a community’s future, a desired outcome
– a place where participants agree they want to journey together.
A vision is made of broad brush strokes and describes a shared destination rather than the details of the path to get there.
A vision captures the values and ideals that county residents hold dear, and those to which they aspire.
A vision will inspire collaboration across the county to do the hard work of making dreams into reality.
A community vision will set the stage for innovation, strategic partnerships, and goal-oriented action!
