City of Belmont issued the following announcement on July 29.
The Kevin Loftin boat launch will be open on August 3rd.
The barge launch has been rescheduled to a later date and the revised date is coming soon.
This date will be posted once determined.
The City has approved the closure of the Kevin Loftin boat launch in order to allow NCDOT to launch a barge for geotechnical boring in advance of the Sloan's Ferry (Wilkinson Blvd) bridge replacement.
