County of Gaston issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.
The family-owned company was founded in Europe and has been in business since 1967. They have more than 400 employees globally and are a premiere producer of plastic packaging solutions for tubes, containers, and jars. That includes providing supplies for world-known brand-bearers in the fields of cosmetics, oral care, and others.
“Sibo Venture’s announcement of their investment in Gaston County is a prime example of why our County tagline is ‘Global Strengths. Local Success,’” Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Chad Brown said. “Companies from across the globe recognize the value of investing in Gaston County and making a long-term commitment that benefits their company and our residents. We are thrilled to welcome Sibo Venture to the Gastonia Technology Park and wish them the best of success for many years to come.”
Sibo Venture plans to hire 20-25 employees in the next 3 to 4 years. They anticipate beginning construction on their new site in GTP later this year.
“We are excited that Sibo Venture is coming to Gastonia as another technology partner,” said Mayor Walker E. Reid. “This company joins a host of others who are choosing our city to take advantage of the excellent economic climate and support resources to help them now and in the future.”
Sibo has been supplying companies in the United States for a decade, but only recently began producing their products here.
“On behalf of the Gaston County Economic Development Board, I want to extend our sincere appreciation to Sibo Venture for announcing their newest location in the Gastonia Technology Park. We are very grateful for their investment in our community and look forward to seeing their success in Gaston County” said Chair Julie Roper.
The Gaston County Economic Development Commission would like to thank our partners in this successful location of Sibo Ventures – the Gaston County Board of Commissioners, Two Rivers Utilities, the City of Gastonia, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
