City of Belmont Police Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.
Golf carts may be driven from sunrise until sunset.
Driving golf carts after dark in the City of Belmont is NOT permitted.
Anyone in violation of Chapter: 74 could be subject to civil penalties set forth in the Code of Ordinances.
Golf Cart Must be:
Must be insured, permitted, and registered with Belmont Police Department.
Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license.
Operating with open containers or under the influence of alcohol is prohibited.
Operators must adhere to ALL traffic laws required by motor vehicles.
Must operate during daylight hours only.
Operating after dark is Prohibited.
