“Our community wants to know who their city leaders are and how to best engage with them,” said Neighborhood Program Administrator Tyler Davis. “The Citizens Academy is an excellent opportunity for us to build a relationship with our citizens and show them how we can help if they need us.” Oftentimes, participants are so excited about what they have learned that they become ambassadors for the City to their communities, said Davis.

WHEN: Sessions start Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at 5 p.m.

WHERE: Most sessions will be held at City Hall. Other locations will be announced.

The program starts at a City Council meeting on Jan. 3, 2023, at 5 p.m. Each three-hour session includes presentations by City employees, hands-on activities, group discussions, facility tours, a police ride-along, and an opportunity to ask City leaders and staff questions.

Application forms are due by Friday, Nov. 11. This link also includes the schedule.
