Of the 226,097 citizens living in Gaston County in 2021, 77.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 174,829 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 83,397 were male, constituting 47.7%, and 91,432 were female, making up 52.3%.
