TOWN OF STANLEY: Advertisement For Sealed Bids Sale Of Town Of Stanley Property

Town of Stanley issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.

The Town of Stanley owns property located at 320 Fourth Street, corner of Valley Street, Stanley, NC, that once housed the town’s water treatment facility. Since the water treatment plant was decommissioned the old water plant and other infrastructure on the site has sat abandoned and is an eyesore to the    neighborhood. The Mayor and Town Council wish to sell the property in order to allow for demolition of the water plant and private development on the site to bring tax base and water and sewer revenue to the Town of Stanley.

The Town will start accepting sealed bids for the property Friday, February 18, 2022 until 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022. Bids must be sealed and submitted to the office of the Town Clerk located at 416 Highway 27 South, NC 28164. 

At 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, all bids received shall be opened in public and the amount of each bid announced and recorded. The record of bids shall be reported to the Town Council at their regular meeting on Monday, March 7, 2022.

During the bidding process, the property can be inspected by contacting the Town Clerk and making such request.  The Town Clerk with coordinate with the public works property to provide access to the site for inspection. 

The Town reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale at any time and the right to reject all bids.
