Town of Cornelius issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.
And we need your help! Have you seen something wrong with our roads? Let us know!
Under the direction of the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB), our Planning department has created a digital mapping tool, known as Street Smarts, that allows citizens to notify the TAB of issues and concerns with roads, intersections and crosswalks in Cornelius. The tool allows you to find the exact street on a map and leave a comment with your thoughts.
If you see a road that needs our attention, follow these steps:
- Click on the Street Smarts link on our homepage to open the map.
- In the upper left-hand corner, click on the edit symbol.
- Click on the red dot labeled "New Feature"
- Find the road, intersection, crosswalk, etc. that you want to comment on and click in that area to place a pin.
- A white box will appear for you to add your comment, date, and email (optional).
- When you're finished typing your comment, close the white box.
- Finally, close out the Street Smarts portal and your comment will be saved.
